Step 2
The Clinical Problem

When facial muscles enter spasm:
-
muscles become shorter than the skin
-
circulation decreases
-
lymphatic flow slows
-
nerves become restricted
-
creases and wrinkles form
Result
👉 wrinkles deepen
👉 skin loses color
👉 fluid accumulates
Key Observation
👉 the face becomes:
-
compressed
-
restricted
-
less expressive
This is why facial wrinkles form and notox is the only way to release deep creases - filler is not the solution
Step 3
Why This Happens

When facial muscles enter spasm:
-
circulation decreases
-
lymphatic flow slows
-
nerves become restricted
Facial muscles are constantly active:
-
expression
-
stress
-
posture
When fatigued:
👉 they enter spasm
Unlike other muscles:
👉 they attach directly into the skin
Critical Mechanism
👉 muscle tension = skin distortion
👉 wrinkles deepen
👉 skin loses color
👉 fluid accumulates
Key Observation
👉 the face becomes:
-
compressed
-
restricted
-
less expressive

forehead
-
temples
-
cheeks
-
jaw
-

Technique
Use:
👉 gentle cross-fiber palpation
Feel For

-
restricted glide
-
firm density
-
wrinkles
-
fluid retention
Healthy tissue:
-
soft
-
mobile
-
hydrated feeling
-
no creases
-
no edema
Key Observation
👉 does the tissue move freely?
👉 or feel bound to deeper layers?
👉 creases form at a 90 degree angle beneath every wrinkle or crease.
👉 find and release each of these muscle causing creases and wrinkles until there are none left.
👉 the deepest creases sometimes can take up to 3 treatments to flatten out
Step 6
Neurological Consequences

The muscles of the face are innervated by the facial nerve (Cranial Nerve VII). As this nerve exits the skull and curves behind the ear, it can become compressed beneath the sternocleidomastoid and auricularis posterior.
When this nerve is compressed, it alters the signaling to the facial muscles. Instead of normal tone and responsiveness, the muscles can enter a state of chronic spasm. In this state, they become shortened and less responsive, pulling the skin inward and creating the wrinkles and creases associated with aging.
At the same time, spasm reduces circulation and fluid movement through the tissue. This can lead to poor delivery of nutrients, reduced collagen support, and impaired drainage of fluid — contributing to dull skin quality and localized edema or puffiness. The tissue is not only compressed, it is also not being properly nourished or cleared.
Over time, muscles held in this state lose normal function. Rather than appearing full and responsive, they can lose bulk and tone, creating a flatter, more aged appearance. This is not simply a skin issue — it is a neurological and muscular pattern driven by altered nerve input and sustained contraction.
In Releasology, this is understood as a combined effect:
-
Nerve compression alters muscle signaling
-
Muscle spasm reduces circulation and drainage
-
Reduced circulation limits tissue repair and collagen support
-
Prolonged inactivity leads to loss of muscular fullness
By releasing the facial muscles — and the surrounding structures affecting the nerve — normal tone can return. Circulation improves, fluid begins to move, and the tissue regains vitality.
The Yang–Yin technique helps facilitate this by allowing the muscles to discharge held tension, restoring a natural, relaxed state. As this occurs, the face often appears more lifted, clear, and youthful — not by masking the problem, but by resolving its underlying cause.
Step 8
Worksheet Exercise

Assignment
Draw each of these muscles and include their:
-
origin
-
insertion
-
movement
-
innervation
Practice
-
resting facial tension
-
asymmetry areas of restriction
Insight
👉 awareness improves results
Step 9
Practice Assignment
Clinical Skill Development

Your Goal
-
release all facial wrinkles
-
identify, through cross-fiber palpation, which specific muscles feel tight. They will be causing a wrinkle at a 90 degree angle over the muscle you feel.,
-
release that muscle with the yang-yin pulse.
-
continue using cross-fiber palpation to check each of the muscles in this section. Identify and release each of them.
-
if wrinkles persist, continue releasing the muscles until they smooth out.
Note: It will take an hour, or more, for facial wrikles to decompress and there is a delayed improvement, due to decompression of the cells along the creases. They heel.
Suggested Flow
-
forehead
-
temples
-
cheeks
-
jaw
-
neck
Key Principle
👉 less force, more precision

Step 11
Client Testimonial

Ask your client:
-
does your face feel lighter?
-
do you feel more relaxed?
-
do you notice visual changes?
-

Notox not only releases wrinkles, but it improves the health of facial tissue
-
Wrinkles smooth-out naturally and because of changes at the cellular level
-
It won't hide your emotions, but it will release your facial wrinkles, if that's what you want
